Johnny Bellar played resonator guitar for the Stoneman Family for 10 years, then worked with the newly formed New Tradition band. After that, he worked at Opryland for 7 years during the 1990s, and in 1996 joined Wilma Lee Cooper's Clinch Mountain Clan. Currently, he performs and does resonator guitar workshops on his own. One of the most innovative resonator guitarists in the business, he has recorded a number of CDs, most of which are available through Country Heritage Music, and all of which are available from Johnny, at his shows, and through his website, www.johnnybellar.com
BLUEGRASS UNLIMITED magazine has just published in their November issue an article I submitted to them on Johnny. We very much appreciate their using the article but I was quite disappointed that they chose to censor all the references to God as the Creator of music and the source of Johnny's talent.
